Why Uber Says Robotaxis Will Take Decades in India

Uber President and COO Andrew Macdonald says India and Brazil are already among Uber’s largest markets by trip volume, but the economics look very different. With fares of just a few dollars, he says it could take decades for autonomous vehicles to compete with the cost of human drivers in those markets.
